On January 31, 1661 two entrepreneurs established a new tile bakery nearby Utrecht. The factory mainly produced roof tiles. In those days there was a high demand for roof tiles. Due to the risk of fire new buildings were made out of bricks. A couple of years later the factory added floor and wall tiles to hthe collection.
After World War II Westraven became a subsidiary of Royal Delft. Besides the existing collection, the factory started producing appliques, candy dishes, serving trays and plates
Westraven is using the so-called transfertechnic: the decoration is glued onto the product by means of transfers. During the firing-process it melts into the glaze.
In 1994, Westraven moved from Utrecht to the mothercompany in Delft, where the production for the main part is integrated into the production of Royal Delft. We proudly present the new Westraven collection 2006
