Hello everyone!
I have to write a motivation letter for the honours programme of my univeristy. Could you please check it? Especially concerning grammar and idiomatic english. I left out part of the introduction for the anonymity.
Dear Sir, Madam,
With this letter I want to convince you of my desire to follow the honours programme and convince you of my suitability.
As long as I can remember I have been seeking for opportunities to learn and distinguish myself from other students. This showed when I started my high school years of bilingual education at Montessori College Twente.
The first three years consisted of exchanges with England, Spain and Denmark. In 2011 I had a two weeks international internship at an international primary school in Cambridge, England.
These activities were one of the experiences I liked the most of the bilingual education apart from the lessons in English.
Aside from the bilingual education I was also eager to join contests like the junior speaking contest where I reached the national round.
Furthermore I have done two additional exams, Cambridge Advanced Exam and International Baccalaureate.
Until this day I do not regret my decision to follow bilingual education. It has given me a lot of opportunities to stand out and grow.
When I heard of the honours programme I instantly got triggered. Such a programme that gives me the tools to be able to develop my interests is gratifying.
Furthermore, I believe that it gives a broader perspective and I really like an extra challenge in addition to my study. International Business has been really interesting thus far, however, I want to grab the unique chance to deepen my knowledge and besides that also look beyond these boundaries and gain knowledge outside my field.
I believe that I can contribute a lot to the academic environment but just as
important, to the social environment.
Due to these extracurricular activities I developed a lot of skills that can be convenient the programme. Organisational skills, able to write critical articles, doing research, be able to debate and speak in front of an audience and last but not least, perseverance.
Every person is unique in their own way and suits a certain study. My beliefs are that I am a suitable
candidate for the honours programme. Especially because of my great ambitions, broad interests, motivation and social skills. I am eager to learn and cannot wait to prove myself and thus that I deserve to be a member of the honours programme.
I hope you will accept my application so I can show you what I am capable of.
Yours faithfully,
